Copying records

Researchers are welcome to view material in the reading room and to make their own copies using their own digital camera or smartphone. The Archives does not offer a photocopying service. Researchers wanting large quantities of material copied should make private arrangements with one of our professional researchers or a researcher of their choice.

Archives staff can arrange copying of single photographs, maps and audiovisual material. Please contact the Archives at archives@anu.edu.au identifying the items you want to be copied. Note that the Archives will not undertake copying where damage may result to the original item, or where it may contravene copyright law or agreements with depositors. It is the researcher’s responsibility to obtain any copyright permissions required for publication.

Charges

Digital copies of single images up to A3 size will be supplied as 600dpi TIFF files via the ANU Open Research repository at no cost. We will provide a quote for digitising larger originals, audiovisual material, bound volumes and files on a cost recovery basis, and will arrange copying once payment is received.

Access Agreement

Researchers are asked to take particular note of Clause 6 of the Access agreement. By signing this agreement you have agreed not to pass to a third party any copies derived from the records, including placing such copies in a library or archives.
