Building Highlight - Graduate House

As the name suggests, Graduate House is a student residence that caters specifically to postgraduate students. The original Graduate House opened in 1971 and was located near the corner of Barry Drive and Northbourne Avenue.

Graduate House, and Toad Hall, which was opened three years later, were seen as good alternatives for postgraduate students who were looking for accommodation that offered an experience that was less traditional and conservative than that offered by University House.

Graduate House relocated in November 1998 to the centre of the campus, in an area just to the west of University House known as Trendall Dale, named after the first Master of University House, Dale Trendall. In 2002 Graduate House came under the administration of University House.

It now houses approximately 150 graduate students from over 30 countries.
