Development of the Campus - The 2000s
A review of the University Site Masterplan in 2000 resulted in a focus on development around the ANU Exchange precinct and on providing increased student accommodation and improving parking and landscaping around the campus.
Some of the major building developments on campus included the Hugh Ennor Building (2003), Peter Baume Building (2004), extensions to the John Curtin School of Medical Research (three stages between 2005-2010), Hedley Bull Centre (2008), Laurus Wing of Ursula College (2010), Crawford School Building (2010), the College of Business and Economics (2010) and the residential hall Wamburun Hall (2019).
In 2005 the ANU signed a Deed of Agreement with the ACT Government to transform the City West Precinct. Known as the ANU Exchange Project, this development closed the gap between the city and the University and includes four student accommodation lodges that house approximately 3,000 students - Davey Lodge, Kinloch Lodge, Warranbul Lodge and Lena Karmel Lodge.
