Academics from a number of disciplines have studied politics and observed events in Papua New Guinea during their fieldwork. Their research is documented in the collections of the ANU Archives, where there are large collections of material relating to politics, elections, social movements, and even the Bougainville crisis. These items do not necessarily come from the collections of political scientists, but from a wide range of academics, including geologists, archaeologists, historians, educators, and anthropologists, who happened to be in the region at the time of the events. Below is a small sample of the many types of documents able to be found in the ANU Archives relating to politics, elections, and movements in Papua New Guinea.
