Copying records

Researchers are welcome to view material in the reading room and to make their own copies using their own digital camera or smartphone. The Archives does not offer a photocopying service.

Archives staff can arrange copying of photographs, maps and audiovisual material. Please complete a request for copies form, identifying the items you want to be copied and including information on whether the material will be published, and send to Orders may take 10-14 days to be processed. Note that the Archives will not undertake copying where damage may result to the original item, or where it may contravene copyright law or agreements with depositors. It is the researcher’s responsibility to obtain any copyright permissions required for publication.

Digital copies of single images up to A3 size will be supplied as 600dpi TIFF files via the ANU Open Research repository at no cost. We will provide a quote for digitising larger originals, audiovisual material, bound volumes and files on a cost recovery basis, and will arrange copying once payment is received.
