Copying records

Researchers are encouraged to copy material using their own digital camera as the Archives are unable to make photocopies.

Archives staff will arrange copying of photographs for researchers. Please complete a request for copies form, send it to and allow 10-14 working days for orders to be processed. Note that the Archives will not allow photographic work to be done where damage may result to the original item, or where such work may contravene copyright law or agreements with depositors. It is the researcher's responsibility to obtain any copyright permissions required for publication.

Digital copies of single pages up to A3 size will be supplied as 600dpi TIFF files via the Open Research repository .

We will arrange a quote for copying larger originals, audiovisual material, bound volumes and files, and will arrange copying once payment on a cost recovery basis is received..

Access Agreement

Researchers are asked to take particular note of Clause 6 of the Access agreement. By signing this agreement you have agreed not to pass to a third party any copies derived from the records, including placing such copies in a library or archives.
