Watch the 2017 Annual Archives lecture - Indigenous lives and the Australian Dictionary of Biography

17 October 2017

Watch Dr Shino Konishi deliver the 2017 Annual Archives lecture on ANU TV.

Of the more than 12,000 individuals included in the Australian Dictionary of Biography (ADB) only 210 (1.5%) of all entries relate to Indigenous Australians. In this lecture presented by ANU Archives and the Friends of the Noel Butlin Archives Centre Dr Shino Konishi charts how the ADB has addressed Indigenous lives in the past, and draws on other national dictionaries of biography for insights into new conceptions and practices of Indigenous biography.
